Our co-founder Gill caught up with Shahid from the Super Entrepreneurs Podcast to talk about using business as a force for good.
Our co-founder Gill was a guest on Shahid Durrani's Super Entrepreneurs Podcast, which features insightful and engaging conversations with leaders and experts from the entrepreneurial niche.
The episode spanned the backstory of the Pickle, some practical tips on creating sustainability plans and improving your impact as a business, as well as a more philosophical discussion on motivation and finding meaning in our work, all of which made for an interesting discussion!
The gap between intention and impact
“70% of [surveyed] leaders agreed that they had a responsibility to create positive impact (...) but at the same time only 40% of those people felt personally responsible. So I think people are waking up to the idea that businesses can be doing good, but there's a gap there that we've found of the kind of the personal ownership to create positive change.”
How can businesses start on a journey of improving their impact on people and the planet?
“Don't feel overwhelmed, just try something today that you weren't doing yesterday and build from there.”
Businesses don’t need to reinvent the wheel when it comes to impact. They can engage with a bunch of really helpful frameworks and certification programs that are already in place. Finding that real connection between what a business stands for and the impact they want to make is key to sparking meaningful change.
